Parco Giona beach (Maccagno)
One of the beaches of Lake Maggiore in Maccagno is the Parco Giona.
The Parco Giona and its beach are located exactly in the center of Maccagno. The beach of the Parco Giona in Maccagno is one of the largest beaches on Lake Maggiore.
Maccagno is one of the northernmost towns on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore, near the border with Switzerland. From the beach you can admire the Castles of Cannero, which are located on the Piedmontese shore of the lake, right in front of the beach.

The pebble and grass beach is a beach that offers many opportunities for recreation, as it is an equipped beach and, close to it, there are:
- basketball court
- Beach volley field
- skate park
- children playground
The Parco Giona beach in Maccagno is a beach suitable for families with children: you can spend the whole day here and have lunch (picnic), a few steps from the lake, under the shade guaranteed by the numerous plants present.
A few meters from the shore there is a platform from which it is possible to dive, appreciated by adults and children: it’s ideal for swimming!
The name derives from the Giona stream, which originates from Monte Tamaro in Switzerland and flows into the Verbano. A bridge was built over this river which houses the Parisi Valle Museum (bridge museum). The museum houses a permanent collection of contemporary art and organizes exhibitions of a good standard thanks to the careful care of local administrators.
The parking, both for cars and motorcycles, is large and close to the beach: this makes the Parco Giona beach in Maccagno hospitable even on the busiest days.
During the summer, on the beach there is a kiosk with bar, pizzeria and restaurant service.
