Boutique Hotel Elvezia
Boutique Hotel Elvezia stands in the romantic setting of Isola Bella, one of the three Borromeo Islands. The Borromean Islands are among the most beautiful and famous places on Lake Maggiore.
Every year, millions of tourists come to spend their holidays on Lake Maggiore and visit the three Borromean islands, called Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola Pescatori. The archipelago lies in the Gulf of Borromeo, the part of the lake that belongs to the municipalities of Stresa, Verbania and Baveno.
The Borromean Islands belong to the commune of Stresa in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. Isola Bella is certainly the most romantic and picturesque as well as the closest to the mainland: inhabited by only about twenty people, a large part of the island is occupied by the Borromeo Palace and its gardens.
The Boutique Hotel Elvezia is located in this environment and is the ideal place for a romantic couple's stay. When the sun goes down, the island becomes magical: the noisy comings and goings of tourists leave room for a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Staying at the Boutique Hotel Elvezia makes you feel like Isola Bella's master, you can experience the authentic, almost magical charm of the Borromean Islands.
The story behind the Boutique Hotel Elvezia...
The tourist development of the Borromeo Islands and Lake Maggiore should not be attributed to such an old period. All the coast of Piedmont and especially the city of Stresa began their artistic and socio-cultural flowering in the period of the Belle Époque.
It was in these years that the Marcacci family, of Italian origin but coming from Switzerland, decided to buy two small buildings on Isola Bella that were once used as restaurants.
First they built a restaurant, then a hotel, called Hotel Elvezia, in memory of the land from which they had come before moving to the Borromeo Islands.
The Marcacci family continued to manage the structure for several years until they decided to sell. The current management of the Elvezia Hotel started in 2015, with some renovations by the new managers.Initially, only the restaurant known as Ristolounge Elvezia was launched, then in July 2017 the rooms of the Boutique Hotel Elvezia were also opened.
The Boutique Hotel Elvezia is the only hotel on Isola Bella.
It is open from mid-March to early November and follows the opening hours of the Borromeo Palace and all the assets owned by the Borromeo family (closed to the public during the winter). However, the Boutique Hotel Elvezia often organizes extraordinary openings during the winter season for the Christmas or New Year holidays.
Occasionally it also opens on Valentine's Day to celebrate love in the romantic setting of Isola Bella.

In each room there is an exposed stone wall with effect lighting, bed linen and courtesy set in plain and light colors, bedside tables, wardrobes, tables and armchairs in antique wood revisited and adapted to a modern context. There are many references to the lake like shells and fish in the patterns on the curtains and bedspreads.
